Share of voice in AI
Share of voice in AI is the share of all brand mentions across a set of AI answers that belong to your brand. Where AI visibility asks "how often am I named?", share of voice asks "of all the names the AI platforms gave, how many were mine?".
Example
For example, if across 25 answers about car rental companies in Dubai the five platforms named companies 60 times, and named your company 9 times, your share of voice is 9 of 60, 15%. A competitor named 21 times has 35%.
On 7 October 2026, in 750 answers about AI visibility tools, Otterly.AI was named in 148 answers, Peec AI in 129 and Profound in 128 (recounted 12 October 2026). The other tools shared the rest. Share of voice shows how much of all the naming a few brands took, and how little was left for the others. The counts are in our research on 150 questions to 5 AI platforms.
How to measure it
- For a fixed set of questions, count every brand named in every answer.
- Count your own mentions.
- Divide yours by the total.
- Track it weekly; a rising share with a steady total means your brand is named more often and another brand less often.
named.ae shows, for each scan, the brands named instead of you and how often, which is the share-of-voice view.
